What is the use of Region Format in User profile.

Will it have impact on the date and number formatting?

date - mm/dd/yyyy (US) vs dd/mm/yyyy (Europe)

That's correct - it will change the date format. The example of US/UK is exactly as you mentioned. Note that you will need to log out /log in.

Note that since this was released, a feature has been added where the date formats can be set in the views of a business schema. In those cases where the format is set, it will not change based on a user's region.

This appears to be the case only with table insights. Dates that are presented on graphs and in the filter options are still displayed at M/D/Y
