Upgrading the Incorta Audit dashboard to version 4.5

One powerful feature of Incorta out-of-the-box is the ability to do BI on BI.  Which users are accessing the Incorta platform?  At what time of day?  How are they connecting?  To which dashboards?  Where are we seeing performance bottlenecks?

Incorta has an elegant solve for this type of analytics through something we call the "Audit Dashboard".  This dashboard is brought to life simply by loading information about end user activity into a schema, and subsequently a business view and dashboard.  The information about end user activity is tracked in an "audit" file within the tenant directory on the platform, one audit file for each tenant.

This post describes how to build the audit dashboard for your implementation and even provides the schema and dashboard export files to easily put it in place.  I highly recommend doing this if you have not.  It is really easy and powerful.

In version 4.5 of Incorta, the /tenant/data directory was enhanced to allow support for data lake and cloud storage types (S3, ADLS, HDFS, etc.) as well as support for sub-directories.  To keep our audit dashboards alive and well, we must make a few small changes to the way our audit schema is setup.  See below for more details.

Simple 4.5 Upgrade Instructions:

After opening the "Audit" schema and selecting the "audit" table and clicking on the "Files" data source to edit, we must make a few changes to the way we instruct Incorta to pick up the audit file.  As you can see in the screen shots below, we must toggle on union files and type "audit" in the directory input.  That's it.  Click [Save] and we're back to business as usual.
