  • Hi Bryan,

You can use Conditional Formatting to create rules for shading cells in a listing table.  See documentation here.

    • Bryan Persaud There is not a way to shade an entire column based on a single rule, however.  Depending on the conditional formatting rule you choose, you might be able to emulate that behavior.  Can you explain your use case?

  • Hi Bryan,

See the image below.  The EMAIL measure has been selected (via > symbol).  In the middle pane, in the Format section, you should see "Conditional Formatting".  Let me know if you don't see it (this is a Listing Table).  Or we can hop on a Zoom if that is easier.

  • The key point to be aware of is that conditional formatting is only available on measure columns, not grouping dimension columns.  For now conditional formatting only offers mathematical operators for comparison so it is good for numbers, but it is possible to use the "=" operator for string comparisons.  If there are only a couple of possible string values in a column, then adding an "=" rule for each value will allow you to shade an entire column, except the heading, if that is your goal.  For number columns, you can achieve this more easily as you have ">" and "<" operators.

  • One other note:  In version 5.2, we are planning to have a new feature whereby it is possible to shade an entire column without using conditional formatting.  This will be one in a number of new features for controlling the look and feel of insights.  Keep your eye out for them in the next few releases.
