Scheduling E-mail with Filters

Hey there,

I have a master insight that I want to send out to different users by project type. Is there a way to have the insight filter to a specific filter at time of delivery?

  • If we apply dashboard prompt then send the dashboard, the prompt filter will be included in the delivered dashboard.

The dashboard applied filter and the insight filter are hard code filtered as part of the dashboard definition and it won't change at the time of delivery.

When a dashboard filter is filtered with session variable based on $user, the user will be the person who schedules the dashboard, not the recipient.

    Hope this helps.

    • Dylan Wan Thanks, so you are saying, if I filter, to "X', setup a delivery, it will always be on filter "X" and if then I setup a second delivery on filter "Y", it will always be on filter "Y"? Hence two different variations of the report will be sent?

      Thanks!

  • Thanks, Dylan. What is the formula to create the $user variable?

joseph. delpercio We don't need to define it. $user is a system varable.  The value is the loginname of the user.
