How does one change the owner of an object (schema, dashboard or folder)?
We have content that was developed by a former employee which has been shared to our Admin group but we are unable to perform some activities.
We can Share and Rename folders created by the former employee but cannot Move or Delete them. Similarly, we can Share, Copy, Rename and Export dashboards but cannot Move or Delete them.
I suspect these missing permissions are limited only to the object owner, thus the interest in changing who the owner is.
you can try the following:
1- login with admin user
2-Go to Users page
3- Select former employee user
4-Click on delete user
5-You will get a delete confirmation message with an options
a) To the current user (in this case will be the admin user)
b) To transfer all this user's objects to another user(you can select any other user or create a new one)
6-Enable the proper choice and confirm
I have completed this and the user account is now deleted. The transferred dashboards reside in a series of folders. I've created a new folder called "Archive_User" and am attempting to move the folders containing the transferred dashboards into the new folder. However, it is copying the folder rather than moving it. I now have two copies of the transferred content, one in the original folder and one in the new "Archive_User" folder.
