Presentation Variable in Aggregate Filer

This is not supported in 5.0.2. Is it on the roadmap to allow the use of a presentation variable in an aggregate filter? Should I put in an enhancement request?

  • After reading further, I discovered I have to use a formula in the filter. This works, but it would be more convenient to access the presentation variable directly on the filter.

  • Hi Mark - Thanks for sharing your solution! Would you be willing to add your suggestion to our product ideas page? I've been working with product management to ensure these ideas will are reviewed and given a status.

    • Marc Paige Thanks!

  • While preparing for upgrading to 5.1.2, I ran the formula validation tool. My demo aggregated table is using this formula:

     count( sch.table.countableId ) >= $pv_count

    The formula validation tool reports this error:

    count currently not supported in this context. It is currently supported only in insight formulas.

    However, it works. Is the validation tool out of date or is it working by happenstance?
