Date format identifier tool

Introduction

Starting from Incorta Analytics 4.x, an enhanced Java API is used to support date formatting. As a result, some of the date formats used in formulas in prior releases may not be supported in 4.x. Thus, users are advised to run the date format identifier tool to scan the metadata database (i.e. Derby, MySQL, or Oracle) for formulas using any of the unsupported date formats as a result of that change.

What is the date format identifier tool?

The date format identifier tool connects to the Incorta Metadata DB to identify the formulas that contains unsupported date formats. The tool can be run from the command line interface. After collecting the metadata database information, it scans the formulas within the following objects, then generates a report with the findings:

  • Physical schemas
  • Business schemas
  • Tables
  • Business Views
  • Dashboards
  • Insight Filters
  • Insight Formulas
  • Insight measure filters
  • Session variables (Internal, external and Filter expressions)
  • Incorta Over Incorta tables
  • Dashboard Applied filters

  • Dashboard filters

The generated report will show the location of the formula(s) that include the unsupported date format.
