Maintenance Pack Announcements for Release 3.1

This page includes a list of the features and main fixes in the Maintenance Packs for Release 3.1.

Maintenance Pack 11

The following table includes a list of the features and main fixes in Maintenance Pack 11.

WARNING: If you are upgrading from a pre-2.9.2 release, system administrators MUST run the migration tool "migrateScheduledJobs.sh" in order for schemas with existing auto-refresh jobs to continue working. This tool is shipped with the Incorta Analytics package, in the "<INSTALLATION_PATH>/bin" directory. If the migration tool is not run, schemas will stop refreshing automatically. Learn more

Area Feature/Enhancement
Data Sources & Data Files Incorta Analytics now supports OneLogin and FreshService data source connectors.

For OneLogin, there are limitations regarding the maximum number of rows extracted per API call, and the rate of API calls per hour.

Maintenance Pack 10

WARNING: If you are upgrading from a pre-2.9.2 release, system administrators MUST run the migration tool "migrateScheduledJobs.sh" in order for schemas with existing auto-refresh jobs to continue working. This tool is shipped with the Incorta Analytics package, in the "<INSTALLATION_PATH>/bin" directory. If the migration tool is not run, schemas will stop refreshing automatically. Learn more

Area Feature/Enhancement
Security Incorta Analytics now offers the option to restrict Admins from logging in to Incorta through pre-defined hosts.
Schemas Incorta analytics now supports incremental update for Materialized Views. Users now can enable the incremental loading (in the "Data Source" window) and enter incremental scripts to be used when firing incremental loading manually, or via the scheduler. Users can use "?", or "get_last_refresh_time()" in Python, to get the last MV refresh time. However, the best practice is to use a logic that gets the data from the source of the MV table, where the CDC column values > the maximum CDC column value in the MV.
More loading details are now provided for materialized views in the schema details (accessed from the "Schemas & Session Variables" section), including the extraction start time, duration, and number of extracted rows.
Dashboards & Insights   Incorta Analytics now allows pagination in the "Table" and "Pivot Table" Insights, so that dashboard viewers can easily navigate through multi-page tables. The number of displayed rows per page can easily be set in the "Analyzer" screen ("Analyzer" privilege required).
Dashboard viewers now have the ability to select the grouping dimension for a Table Insight from a drop down list, as long as the Insight contains more than one grouping dimension.
This release offers the ability to select an Insight to view, from a drop-down list that appears when the Insight is in full-screen mode.
Analyzer Incorta analytics 3.1.10 now includes multiple enhancements to the dynamic hierarchy:
  • Include/Exclude the hierarchy parent.
  • Add attributes to the grouping dimension, with the ability to format numerical and date measure attributes.
  • Expand/Collapse tree view.
Filters Formula columns created within business schemas can now be used in dashboard prompts and filters. You can also create a new formula column within prompts on the dashboard level.
Data Sources & Data Files This release includes a beta version of Essbase as a data source.
Known Issues    Importing a schema (with the "Incremental" loading enabled) into an older version (release 3.1.9 or earlier) causes the loss of the configured Spark properties. Thus, schema managers will need to manually enter the spark properties for the MV.
Using formula columns in prompts and filters that return boolean values results in misplacing the "True" value in place of the operator (e.g. In).
Using the Formula Builder in Safari 10.x causes formulas to disappear. Please ensure the browser is updated to the latest version, or use the Chrome browser.

Maintenance Packs 1-9

This release includes enhancements in the engine and loader areas, improving the product stability and loading process. The following table includes a list of the features and main fixes in Maintenance Packs 1-9.

WARNING: If you are upgrading from a pre-2.9.2 release, system administrators MUST run the migration tool "migrateScheduledJobs.sh", in order for schemas with existing auto-refresh jobs to continue working. This tool is shipped with the Incorta Analytics package, in the "<INSTALLATION_PATH>/bin" directory. If the migration tool is not run, schemas will stop refreshing automatically. Learn more

WARNING:
Regarding the "Customizing dashboard scheduled jobs" feature in this release - If you schedule emailing a dashboard in release 3.1.9 with “Cc” and “Bcc” recipients, they will not be transferred automatically when you export that dashboard and import it into an older release environment (if you choose to export the scheduled jobs along). After importing the dashboard, edit the imported scheduled job (if any) to add the "Cc" and "Bcc" recipients in the “To” field.
Area Feature/Enhancement
Engine & Loader Engine and Loader enhancements - This release includes enhancements in the engine and loader areas, improving the product stability and loading process.
Data Sources & Data Files Cassandra 3.11 and Presto support - Incorta Analytics now supports Cassandra 3.11, and Presto as datasources.
NetSuite SuiteAnalytics support - NetSuite SuiteAnalytics JDBC connector is now supported, enhancing the performance that used to be impacted when connecting via an API service, prior to this release.
Dashboards & Insights   Introducing Incorta over Incorta - Incorta Analytics 3.1.9 supports building schemas over dashboard tables. Simply send a dashboard table as CSV or XLSX, using a fixed file name (disabling the “Append Timestamp” option) to a shared folder on the Incorta host server (Tenant’s Data folder). Then, you will be ready to build dashboards using that exported Incorta table Insight.
Customizing dashboard scheduled jobs - In this release, when emailing, or scheduling to email, a dashboard, users will have the option to add Cc/Bcc recipient, a subject line and body text, and set the name of the destination file/folder.
Copying a dashboard from within - Incorta Analytics now enables users to easily copy a dashboard from within, enabling users to choose the destination to paste the copied dashboard.
Filters     Selecting multiple filter string values - Users can now select more than one value with filter operators resulting in string values, e.g. Starts with, Contains, etc.
Displaying selected filters on top - A new enhancement in the filter drop-down menu displays the selected filters at the top. This is especially helpful when the filter items are so many that the selected values are hidden somewhere in the middle or at the bottom of the list.
Entering/Pasting multiple filter values - When applying filters to Insights/dashboards, users can now enter or paste multiple values, separated either by commas or carriage return. If values are separated by commas and carriage return, the latter will supersede the earlier. That is, if you filter using three values, two of which are comma-separated and the third is separated by carriage return, the comma-separated values will be considered one value and the third value will be considered the second.
