Can not create/calculate field as it may contain a deleted data column.

I am trying to use a lookup function in a formula field and I get this message:

"Can not create/calculate field [schema table and field name here ] as it may contain a deleted data column."

The details don't provide any additional value.

The columns I am trying to reference are present and loaded. Any ideas what this means?

Does it work for other columns or other lookup tables?   Can you try to review the data by creating an another insight on the lookup table?

Thanks for the reply Dylan. Not sure what happened, but I removed the formula column, saved the schema and then started over. This time after saving the formula column with the lookup, it did not complain and worked as expected. Hmm.
