Symptoms

  • Seeing the error below on a very frequent basis, which forces the user to restart the Notebook service.

Diagnosis

Check the Notebook logs that can be found in the Analytics data collection in a file with name zeppelin--delmonte-dev-0.out.

The error found is an out of memory, as per below:

Solution

From the backend increase the memory allocated to notebooks from 1 GB (default) to 2 GB: 

cd /home/incorta/IncortaAnalytics/IncortaNode/notebooks/runtime/bin
vi common.sh
change "export ZEPPELIN_MEM="-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m" > "export ZEPPELIN_MEM="-Xms2024m -Xmx2024m" 
and "export ZEPPELIN_INTP_MEM="-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m" > "export ZEPPELIN_INTP_MEM="-Xms2024m -Xmx2024m"

Then restart the Notebook service from CMC.
