Here are the steps to orient yourself to Incorta's updated interface. The navigation has moved from the top of the page to a left sidebar, and content browsing has been reorganized into three focused views. Everything you had access to before is still available — in a new location.
In the updated interface, the primary navigation bar has moved from the top of the page to a collapsible left sidebar. This gives you more vertical workspace for dashboards, analyses, and data exploration without sacrificing access to navigation options.
Before: navigation across the top
Now: navigation in the left sidebar
The following table summarizes the key changes:
| Before | Now |
|---|---|
| Navigation bar along the top | Left sidebar navigation |
| 5 top-level items visible | All items visible, including Data Studio, Data Governance, Security, Marketplace, and Incorta Nexus |
| Single content list | Recent, Favorites, and Directory tabs |
| Fixed navigation width | Collapsible sidebar — expand or collapse as needed |
No features or permissions have been removed. The new sidebar also surfaces items that were previously nested or harder to find, including Data Studio, Data Governance, and Incorta Nexus.
The left sidebar contains the same primary navigation destinations you had before. Select any item to navigate to that area of Incorta.
When you need more workspace — for example, when reviewing a wide dashboard — you can collapse the sidebar to icon-only mode.
[[recommendation | Tip]] | When the sidebar is collapsed, hover over any icon to see its label as a tooltip before selecting it.
With the transposition of the menu, the new account access can be found at the bottom the the navigation bar and is signified with a profile picture or placeholder.
Content browsing is now organized into three tabs at the top of the content area. These tabs replace the previous single-view content list.
The Recent tab displays the dashboards, analyses, and other content you opened most recently. Use this tab to quickly return to ongoing work.
If you are migrating from the previous interface, the Recent tab will be empty at first. It will populate as you open content in the new interface.
The Favorites tab displays content you have starred. To add an item to your favorites, select the star icon (☆) next to any dashboard or content item. The item then appears in your Favorites tab across sessions.
The Directory tab displays the complete directory of content you have permission to view, organized by folder. Use this tab to browse or search for content you have not recently accessed.
Each tab includes controls to help you find and view content the way you prefer.
Use the Filter By Name search box to narrow results by keyword as you type.
Select the Owner drop-down list to filter content by ownership. The available options are:
Use the content type buttons to the right of the Owner filter to show only a specific content type. The available options are All, Dashboards, and Notebooks.
Select the layout icon in the upper-right corner of the content area to choose how items are displayed.
The available layouts are:
All features from the previous top navigation are available in the left sidebar. If you are looking for a specific tool, check the sidebar icons and expand the sidebar to see full labels. If you still cannot locate it, contact your Incorta administrator.
Yes. Your sidebar state (expanded or collapsed) is saved to your user session and persists between logins.
The updated layout provides more vertical screen space for your analytics work and aligns with modern application design patterns. The left-sidebar model is consistent with how many enterprise analytics and productivity platforms organize navigation today. Additionally, the resulting footprint of the canvas is larger when menu is in minimized mode.
